Single Vineyard Cabernet 'Margies' 2022
Our first Margaret River Cabernet. A bright, modern wine that combines succulent fruit with understated elegance.
GROWING & MAKING: Houghton clone Cabernet from my mate Ben’s vineyard in the backblocks of Cowaramup. Fermented in open vats, hand plunged, and basket pressed before maturation for 16 months in French oak, 20% of which was new. Ripe and juicy with plenty of black fruit flavours along with a sprinkling of graphite and olive tapenade. This has a plushness to it, that merges beautifully with the firm, ripe tannins and long, lingering finish. Margaret River Cabernet as it should be.
Unfined, unfiltered; minimal mucking about. Vegan.
