Small Batch 'The Whole Bunch' 2022

Bunches of handpicked Syrah fermented whole, stalks and all. Lots of foot stomping. Spicey, perfumed and silky; sophisticated stuff.

GROWING & MAKING: Hand-picked Syrah from the Bransgrove vineyard in northern Wilyabrup.  The bunches of grapes were kept whole and then gently foot-stomped in open fermenters.  After two weeks of fermentation with wild yeast the whole bunches were basket pressed and then matured in neutral oak for ten months.  The whole berries in the ferment adds pretty floral notes, while the inclusion of the woody stalks adds spice and fine tannins.  A great example of modern Margaret River Syrah that’s complex, stylish and most importantly delicious.

Unfined, unfiltered; minimal mucking about. Vegan.
